Overview

The Queensland Government, through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC), has established the Queensland Veterans’ Memorial Grants Program to encourage and assist Queensland veterans’ groups and other organisations in the creation, upkeep and conservation of monuments, memorials and public memorial sites acknowledging Queensland veterans’ war or conflict service.

  • applicants are permitted to submit one application per round in the Queensland Veteran's Memorial Grants program.

Where there is an existing memorial in a district, the creation of a new memorial commemorating the same war or conflict service will not be considered. Please visit https://data.qld.gov.au/dataset/war-memorial-sites-in-queensland (Register of War Memorials) or www.qldwarmemorials.com.au (Queensland War Memorial Register) to reference listings of existing war memorials within your district prior to submitting an application.

Assessment

Applicants will be assessed according to how well they meet the selection criteria within this application form. Funding will not be granted retrospectively. New stages of an existing project may be considered on their own merit.

Eligibility check

The following organisations are ineligible to apply:

  • state or federal government departments
  • organisations operating for profit
  • individuals
  • political parties
  • primary or secondary schools, universities and
  • parents and citizens associations.

 If the applying organisation is ineligible or non-incorporated and would like to apply for funding, incorporated community organisations should be approached to auspice the project. The incorporated organisation takes full responsibility for the legal and financial accountability of this proposed project.

Confirmation

I confirm that the applicant organisation:

  • has read and understands the program guidelines
  • holds a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • operates on a not-for-profit basis
  • seeks funding support for a project located in Queensland
  • is either a local council, incorporated association or body, corporation operating on a not-for-profit basis, a site or memorial custodian who is not an ineligible organisation or is auspiced by an incorporated organisation for the purposes of this application.
